Birchbox- December 2013

I have been a loyal Birchboxer for about 2 years now. I love the concept of a monthly subscription box (which was started by Birchbox) and they have the best rewards program that I have ever seen. Normally, they variety that is in each box is great. A good combination of makeup, skincare and hair care but this month was a disappointment for me. Especially since it was the December box (which I find is normally the best box of the year).

Don't get me wrong, I am not going to cancel my Birchbox subscription because everyone has an off month. That to me is not a reason to cancel the box but it will make me look a little closer at the next couple of boxes. So what exactly came in my box?

Camille Beckham- This is the Morelia Monarch body butter and it smells amazing! It left my skin soft and hydrated. Retail Value- $0.75

bliss- This facial pad has time lapsed technology that gives your skin a facial as you sleep. Retail Value- $1

Birchbox- Birchbox has a new app and you can shop directly from your phone or tablet! This is a sticker to put on your phone so you don't forget to shop for all your favorites!

Klorane- I love this sample. It is a gentle dry shampoo with oat milk. I have not found a great dry shampoo that I love so I was excited to see this in the box. Retail Value- $6.50

LAQA & CO- This is definitely not my color and I am not a big fan of lip pencils but I have a friend that will go crazy for this. I see a stocking stuffer in her future! Retail Value- $9

Sarah McNamara- This is a skin transformer that improves skin tone and texture. Bonus- it has a SPF 20 in it! Retail Value- $4.80

The value of this months box is about $22. It is still a good value for the $10 price tag but I was just not thrilled with the collection. I am hoping for a better month next month!

Do you get Birchbox? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Ipsy's My Glam Bag- December 2013

Celebration!

Since New Year's is only two weeks away I love that the theme of this month's Ipsy's My Glam Bag is CELEBRATION! All the items in this month's bag are perfect to make a glamorous look for your big party this year. Ipsy is full of great videos and ideas on how to create the perfect look you want.

I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite bags yet. For those of you who are new to Ipsy, you get all your goodies in a cosmetic bag. I have given most of my bags away because I do not need 12 bags that are all the same size. I do wish they would send some different size bags...

Be A Bombshell- If you read my blog regularly then you know I am a HUGE fan of Be A Bombshell Cosmetics but now I love them even more. I ordered some eyeliner from them on Black Friday because they were such a good deal and I am obsessed with their eye liner. And of course I used my Ipsy code and got a free lip gloss (perks of being a Ipsy subscriber!)  but when my order arrived it was not complete. I didn't worry to much because sometimes orders arrive in 2 shipments. When it hadn't come a sent them an email and they apologized and put the missing items in the mail that day. Everyone makes mistakes and I do not fault them for the error. I love that they fixed it immediately. So back to the item in this month's bag. It is a all in one stick. It can be used on your eyes, cheeks or lips. How convenient is that! Bonus Offer- 40% off any purchase plus a free full-sized Raspberry Tart Blush! Retail Value- $16

Starrily- This cute mini bottle of nail polish is black with gold glitter. I am personally not a big fan of the glitter nail polish but I know someone who is! Bonus Offer- 20% off any order. Retail Value- $5

POP Beauty- A collection of three pretty natural eye shadows is perfect to use everyday or add in some gold for New Year's Eve. Bonus Offer- 25% off any order. Retail Value- $8

Ardell- I wore my first pair of false eyelashes for my bridal portraits a few months ago and I have been crazy about them ever since. And if you are going to wear them I recommend Ardell. It is the only brand I wear. Retail Value- $4

J. Cat Beauty- I am not a big fan of lip pencils but I am always willing to give new products a try. It is my understanding that they have great staying power so I will be giving this one a try for New
Year's. Bonus Offer- 30% off. Retail Value- $4

It looks like I am ready for the holiday season with all these goodies from Ipsy! The value of this month's bag is $37! Great deal for the $10 price tag...

Do you get Ipsy? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Yumvelope- Pre-Christmas Special!

Pre-Christmas Special-- Battle of the Teas!
Yumvelope is running an incredible deal through Thursday. All orders placed will receive $3 off plus an awesome 20 or 24-piece tea bag from the brand of your choice-- Rooibos Chai from EcoTeas or a green or black flavored tea from Revolution.

Boxy Charm- December 2013

I am new to Boxy Charm but so far I have really impresses with the variety of items that are in the box.

This month's theme is "Winter Wonderland". It makes me wish it was snowing outside (We don't get snow here in Charleston, SC very often) so I could cozy up inside with a cup of tea. Now it is only 40 degrees outside so I wasn't in the Winter Wonderland mood until I opened my Boxy Charm box!

NYX- This eye shadow pallet is going to be perfect for New Years. I love the pinks! Retail Value- $6

L'Oreal- This nail polish is the prettiest color of purple. I can understand why they call it "berry nice". Retail Value- $5

Mirabella- I love trying new mascaras and this gel essential is no different. Layer for dramatic effect! Retail Value- $22

Kaunis- This soothing facial mask balances for glowing silky skin. It also heightens moisture, relaxes and firms, and only contains organic ingredients. Retail Value- $15

Novex- I am very excited to try this hair cream. It contains Brazilian Keratin and Vitamin E. Retail Value- $7

Ofra- Lip Gloss with a plumper! Some of us need a little extra help with plump lips so I am ready to try this plumper lip gloss. Retail Value- $12.95

Mission- Sweet Vanilla lip balmer with SPF 15. I am a huge fan of lip balm so this is perfect for Winter. Retail Value- $5

It looks I am very ready for this Winter season thanks to my December Boxy Charm. Plus all the colors are perfect for any New Years party!

The value of this month's box is $82.95. Definitely a good deal for the $21 price tag each month.

Do you get Boxy Charm?  If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Boxy Charm- November 2013

I was given the opportunity to review Boxycharm and I jumped at the opportunity. One because I love make up and two because I love the opportunity to bring you a new box to check out. Boxycharm brings you 5-7 items each month from well known brands.

I liked the mix of items that came in the box. There are brands I know and love and then some that were new to me. But that is the fun of a subscription service...

Be A Bombshell- This is a brand that I already love so I was excited to see this blush (color: Blind Date) in the box. Retail Value- $16

Sparitual- This nail polish is vegan and DBP-Free. It is a little dark for me but I have a friend that is going to love it. Retail Value- $12

Organix- This nourishing body butter smells so amazing. And I love body butters more than body lotion so this is perfect! Retail Value- $7.99

Be A Bombshell- This is without a doubt my favorite eyeliner ever! It is like a marker and goes on just as easy. They could not have given me a better product in my box! Retail Value- $14

Material Girl- I have heard of this brand but never owned any of their products but I am very excited to try this lip gloss. It is glossy with a hint of color. Retail Value- $6

Yu-Be- I have a smaller sample of this lotion but I am glad to get this bigger size. This lotion is great and a small amount goes a long way. Perfect lotion for winter! Retail Value- $ 4

I was very pleased with the items that came in this Boxycharm box. I liked the mix of make up and lotion and the brands are all top notch. Great job Boxycharm!

The value of this months box is $60 and the price is $21 with free shipping. Definitely worth the price with an amazing value!

Do you get Boxycharm? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Ipsy's My Glam Bag- November 2013

Each month I look forward to that bright pink bubble mailer to arrive so I can rip it open and see all the goodies I received from Ipsy. This month was no different.

The bag (yes, you get a cosmetic bag each month) is bright gold. Not exactly my color but I have a friend that will love it! So what exactly came in this months box?

Be A Bombshell- This lip crayon is amazing but not really my color so I will be putting this in my "give to a friend" pile. Bonus Offer- 40% off any purchase plus a free coco delight lip gloss. Retail Value- $14

Cailyn- This eyeshadow is really pretty and I love the applicator! Bonus Offer- 30% off any purchase. Retail Value- $15

Nailtini- This color is perfect to compliment your holiday party outfits. Bonus Offer- 50% off and a free eyeliner with a $25 purchase! Retail Value- $6

Starlooks- I love Starlooks and I am very excited to try this eye pencil. It is a soft amethyst color. Bonus Offer- 40% off any purchase. Retail Value- $14

Pixi- I am excited that there is a bronzer in this box because I use that instead of blush. Bonus Offer- 25% off any purchase. Retail Value- $18

em Michelle Phan- I am a big fan of lip balms and even make my own so this is a great product to get in the bag. Bonus Offer- 30$ off any purchase. Retail Value- $15

The value of this bag is $82!!! It only costs $10 so this is a no brainer. The best value I have seen in a long time and I love the products so it is a win-win situation!

Do you get Ipsy's My Glam Bag? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

The Pleasure Pantry- November 2013

This is my last month to have The Pleasure Pantry as a sponsor and it has been such a pleasure to work with them. I like the variety of items that they send each month. It is not only adult toys but lots of other things too. Check out this months box...

This is such a cute collection. The subscription I signed up for is the "Bridal Box". They have a nice variety to choose from: bridal, straight or gay (guys and girls). I like that they customize for you.

Birchbox- November 2013

For those of you who don't know about the Birchbox shop (I am not sure how you don't know because it is awesome) it is the place on the Birchbox website where you can purchase full size items from your Birchbox. All those points that you earn from shopping in the shop, writing reviews and buying gift subscriptions can be redeemed in the Birchbox shop. For every dollar you spend you get 1 point and 10 points for each review of items in your box, then you get $10 for each 100 points to spend in the Birchbox shop.

If there is anything you ever wanted to buy from the Birchbox shop this is the month to do it. A portion of the Birchbox shop proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry. It is a nation wide organization that works to end childhood hunger. What a great cause!

The theme of this months box is "More Good". I was a little confused about what that meant until I read the rest of the card that tells you about the theme. The holiday season is all about abundance and this box is no different. So what exactly came in this months box?

Ahmad Tea- Three yummy tea bags in Raspberry Indulgence, English Tea No. 1, and Jasmine Romance. Retail Value- $0.50

Bare Love Body-  This is a skin firmer and hydrator that is perfect for the Winter season. Retail Value- $9

Eyeko- I love mascara and this one is no different! Retail Value- $12

Juicy Couture- This fragrance sample is "Viva La Juicy Noir". It has a berry scent with a touch of honeysuckle and sandalwood. Retail Value- $1

Sampar- This hydrating cream helps leave your skin with a youthful glow. Retail Value- $3

The value of this box is $25.50. This is a great value for $10. I highly recommend this box not only for the value but for the great mix of products.

Tackle Grab- October 2013

So sorry the review of this box is later than I would have liked but I have been out of town getting married!

Tackle Grab is a great way to experience new fishing lures. They send a box each month of new lures based on the type of fishing you do (you complete a profile). The lures are valued at a total of $16 or more.

This month I got 4 new lures based on a profile that probably made no sense. I based put in a variety of fishing options so you could see the different types of lures available to come each month.

I honestly have no idea what these lures are used for cause I do not fish. I give them to my uncle who runs a fishing charter business. The box is guaranteed to contain lures valuing at least $16 and that is the cost of the box with a month to month subscription. So you get a variety and get your money back!

Do you get Tackle Grab? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

The Pleasure Pantry- October 2013

Warning- Adult Content!

Do you want to add some spice to your love life? I highly recommend The Pleasure Pantry. They offer a monthly subscription box of the adult nature. It doesn't matter if you are straight or gay they customize the box for either.

I opted for the "bridal box" since I got married 2 weeks ago. I am sorry this box is so late but I was not in town since I was getting married in Houston and I don't live anywhere near there. So what exactly came in this months bridal Pleasure Pantry Box?

Butterfly Adult Toy- batteries not included... Retail Value- $8

Dreamgirl- These are cute ruffle front thong panties. Retail Value- $12

Petal Elegance- These little petals cover your nipples and are great for those tops and dresses where a bra is just not possible. Retail Value- $7

Screaming O- Super stretchy textured erection ring. Retail Value- $2.95

Double Talks- "Just Married" Pasties. Retail Value- $10

Wicked- flavored water based lubricant in two small trial sizes. Retail Value- $1

This is a great mixture of items! Thank you to The Pleasure Pantry for the box to review! The value of this box is $41 and it costs $29 for a month to month subscription.

Do you get Pleasure Pantry? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Ipsy's My Glam Bag- October 2013

The Love of Beauty is Taste. The Creation of Beauty is Art...

This is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson and it nicely wraps up the theme of this month's Ipsy bag. The theme is The Art of Beauty and I love the products in this month's bag.

Each month all your Ipsy goodies come in a cosmetic bag. I normally give them away because honestly, I do not need that many and they are all the same size. You can only use so many cosmetic bags that are all the same size. But...I love this one so I think I will keep it. Don't forget that each product comes with a bonus offer. So what all came in this bag?

Zoya- This nail polish color is perfect for Fall/Winter. Most of the nail polishes I have been getting are not the right color for this time of year but this one is perfect! It is called Mason. Bonus Offer- Buy 2 Get 1 Free. Retail Value- $8

Ofra- There are a lot of lip glosses that claim to be a plumper. I really hope this one does not disappoint! Bonus Offer- 30% off. Retail Value- $12.95

Nourish Organic- I don't really love the scent of this body lotion (coconut and argan body lotion with hibiscus) but it did make my skin feel amazing! Bonus Offer- 20% off. Retail Value- $1.25

h2o+- I have never heard of this brand before today but I am excited about trying this hydration treatment for my face and neck. Bonus Offer- 25% off. Retail Value- $7

Sexy Hair- I already love Sexy Hair's hairspray so I am excited to try this spray clay. It is supposed to add shine and hold. Bonus Offer- $5 off. Retail Value- $8

This month was a great value for Ipsy. The cost is $10 with free shipping and the value is about $45 dollars!

Do you get Ipsy's My Glam Bag? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

Birchbox- October 2013

The theme to this month's Birchbox is "Beauty Buzz". They talk about the word "obsessed" being thrown around the Birchbox HQ in regards to beauty products and I really can't blame them. I really appreciate them being obsessed so that I get to enjoy my Birchbox each month.

I am used to getting more make up in Birchbox and this one seems to be more hair care and skin care type products but it is good to mix it up every now and again. I just hope it doesn't stay like this because I love my new make up items. So what came in this month's box?

Liz Earle- This UK favorite is Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and the polishing cloth. This Birchobox exclusive will purify and exfoliate skin. Retail Value- $10

Joie- I love the floral scent of Folle de Joie parfum. Retail Value- $3

Miss Jessie's Original- The description on this Crème De La Crème Conditioner is "this detangling formula softens and nourishes stubborn curls and pin-straight locks alike". I cannot wait to try this conditioner! Retail Value- $1.33

POP Beauty- I love a good lip gloss to keep in my purse or travel bag. This one has great oils and beeswax. Retail Value- $14

Chapstick- Birchbox Bonus item! Hydration Lock Chapstick gives lips a fuller and smoother appearance. Retail Value- $3

The value of this box is amazing. The cost is $10 plus free shipping and the value is just over $30. I did enjoy the items that came in this month's box I do like it when there is more make up and less of the other stuff. Maybe next month...

Do you get Birchbox? If so, what do you love/not love about it?https://www.birchbox.com/

HSN Total Beauty Collection- October 2013 SNEAK PEAK

HSN (Home Shopping Network) will be premiering this exclusive collection from Total Beauty Collection. The Total Beauty Collection editorial team has collected this group of 9 products from our favorite beauty companies like Benefit, Too Faced and Wei East. This is your sneak peak at that special collection.

The box will sell on HSN's website (www.hsn.com) on October 31st and then on air November 13th on a special 24 hour LIVE show on HSN. The Total Beauty editors will be available on the live show to answer viewer questions, talk about their expertise and talk about this special collection. So what will be in this special collection?

I really enjoyed the mix of products that came in this collection. There is makeup, skin care and hair care. The collection will sell for $19.95 with FREE shipping. I love free shipping. The collection also includes a coupon for $10 off a $29 purchase from HSN on the brands in the collection. Here is a closer look...

Perlier- This Shea button velvet hand cream with sweet almond milk is so smooth and hydrating for your skin. I absolutely fell in love with this hand cream. Retail Value- $3

Benefit- This is a balm to help reduce the appearance of pores. It is oil free so it is great for all skin types. I like that this balm doesn't make my oily skin feel even more oily. It fact it makes it feel dry and smooth. Plus, it has a little tint so it will blend with your foundation perfectly. Retail Value- $4.50

Elysee- Youthspan Enviro-shield tinted veil is an alternative to foundation. I found that one layer is not enough for my skin but you can put on additional layers so it will add more coverage. I thought that it was light and did look light. Retail Value- $5.50

Too Faced- Better Than Sex Mascara! I am a big fan of mascara and the name alone made me want to try this one. I used it for a wedding I was in this past weekend and it was amazing. I am not sure if it is better than sex but it did jump to the top of my favorite mascaras list. It went on very smooth and did a great job of making my eyes brighter. Retail Value- $14

M Asam-  Vinolift is a skin tightening cream that I found did a great job. I did find the container was a little hard to read since it has a silver mirror look. Retail Value- $ 7

Serious Skincare- Glycolic Gommage is a micro-polisher and exfoliator that will leave your skin looking smooth and refreshed. You can use it for a big night out or for continuous use. Retail Value- $ 4.25

Carol's Daughter- I have to admit that I am not usually a fan of products for your hair. Especially oils. I have oily hair as it is and I find that most oils sit on my hair and make it look greasy. That is not the case with Monoi Oil Sacred Strengthening Serum.  I am going to assume that it is because it is used after your done with your shower on towel dried hair. You can even use on dry hair for extra frizz control. Retail Value- $  1.50

Wei East- These are Chinese Herbal intensive eye treatment pads. These pads are infused with 72 potent Chinese herbs to reduce the look of dark circles and puffiness. This will be on my "must buy" list! Retail Value- $2

Trish McEnvoy- This was by far one of my favorite products in this collection. It is an eye shadow base and it is amazing. It comes in various shades so it will match your skin tone or you can wear it alone. I have oily skin so my make up tends to slide off. This kept my eye shadow in place all day! Retail Value- $ 25 (a full size tube is $25)

I am a big fan of this collection from HSN Total Beauty Collection. The price is $19.95 with free shipping and the value (the best I can calculate) is just over $65. That is an amazing deal! Don't forget to check out the collection on HSN's website on October 31st and then on HSN's LIVE show on November 13th.

UPDATE! Here is the link that will take you directly to the HSN collection on the Total Beauty website. http://www.totalbeauty.com/shops/collections/hsn?utm_medium=Blog&utm_source=lovemysubscriptions&utm_campaign=HSNblogpost1113

Project DIY- September 2013

Project DIY was nice enough to send me a box to review. This is such a neat subscription service for people who like to do crafts but may not be creative enough to think of these projects on their own, new to crafts or for kids/teens.

The cost is $30 per month with free shipping. Plus you can buy a $20 starter kit with cool tools. So what are the projects for this month?

A very cool anchor bracelet, a leather tassel accessory and a necklace.

The projects come all wrapped neatly in these pillow envelopes. This way you will have everything you need all together. All the instructions are available online or downloadable from iTunes.

I can't wait to get started on these projects! Do you get Project DIY? If so, what do you love/not love about it?
