Bulu Box- May 2013

It is time for our monthly dose of health items and vitamins! Bulu Box Time!!! So things were a little different in this months box. I was a little surprised that the box value was a little lower than normal BUT it is pretty cool idea they used. So each month people go onto the Bulu Box website and recommend products that they love and feel should be in the box. So this month is only full of those products! I love this idea cause these products are loved by real people just like you and me.

So what items did every day people choose for this months box? By the way, these people are called Bulugans. Isn't that such a fun name?

The value of this month's box is only $8.35. This is slightly below the $10 price tag but you also get a free workout video (online) from JCore. JCore is owned by celebrity fitness trainer Jay Cardiello. He has a whole DVD set you can buy but this allows you to try one of the workouts for free!

I was very excited to see my Birchbox arrive the other day. This box is a great value and I like the variety of items that comes in it each month. So what came in May?

Isaac Mizrahi- This is a little sample of his perfume FABULOUS. It is a fanciful blend of mandarin and jasmine laced with vanilla.

COOLA- I am very excited about this cucumber moisturizer with SPF 30. Retail Value- $4

Beauty Protector- This is a detangler, locks color and adds shine. Retail Value- $5

Sumita- I love eyeliner and I am excited about this deep purple color. Retail Value- $5.25

Pilot- Birchbox sent this extra so that your pen can be as stylish as you are. So Cute! Retail Value- $1.56

Birchbox costs $10 a month and the value of this box is $15.81. I came out ahead so I am happy!

I am always happy to see my Ipsy glam bag arrive in that hot pink bubble mailer. There is always a great variety of cosmetics and of course the cute cosmetic bag you get each month. The theme this month is "Spring Fling"!

Look how cute that bag is! It is going to be perfect to hold all the little things that hang out in the bottom of my beach bag.

Our Local Box- May 2013

I thought the concept behind Our Local Box was awesome. They send out a box each month that is filled with Kentucky items. I liked that it wasn't all beauty or all food. It is all items from Kentucky! And Kentucky makes some awesome things besides Bourbon. So the theme of this months box is "Derby" since the Kentucky Derby was not too long ago.

This box company was founded by Dan and Jason Lee and I think they have a great idea with local only items. This would be perfect to explore Kentucky or if you used to live in Kentucky and moved away. This will give you a taste of home. So what came in my Our Local Box?

Cellar Door Chocolates- Banana Pudding Fudge! I don't know what genius thought of this idea but it is brilliant! Straight out of Louisville, KY Retail Value- $8

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas- This is Cheery Rose Green Tea flavor and it smells AMAZING! Straight out of Danville, KY Retail Value- $10.50

Our Local Box is $30 a month and cheaper if you get a 3 or 6 month subscription. The value of this box is $32 and it is always full sized products! I love that this box is a specific area and I feel like I got a little piece of Kentucky.

Lucid New York Box- May 2013

Lucid New york sent me their May box to review for the blog and it had two super cute pair of earrings in it! The first thing I opened was a rolled up piece of paper and the saying at the top said, "When one door closes, another opens. Or you can open the closed door. That's how doors work." I thought that was awesome. A little bit of philosophy and humor rolled into one!

How cute is this packaging?!? The Lucid box costs $26 a month and this month the value is $58. This is a great way to check out their jewelry collection and then shop the jewelry collection on Lucid New York's website. You can also check out their Facebook page (Lucid New York Jewelry) and jewelry blog. So what items came in the box this month?

These earrings are super cute for a dinner out with your favorite someone or even a night out with the girls. Retail Value- $29

I thought the items they sent in this months box are super cute! The quality is top notch and the value is great.

Total Beauty Collection- Revlon Mother's Day Box

I was very excited that Total Beauty Collections sent me a box to review. Total Beauty is not a typical monthly subscription box company in that it is not a subscription at all. Each "box" or collection can be bought individually based on the theme of the collection. I like that even though you do not get a box automatically each month you also do not get a bunch of products that you don't want or need.

So the collection they sent me was the Mother's Day Collection and it was full of Revlon products. I love Revlon products! So the collections are typically $15 with free shipping. Most collections contain 4-6 deluxe samples with bonus items. There are collections they will offer that are at a higher price point. But that is the beauty of not having a subscription...you do not have to get any collection you wont use or don't want to pay for.

This is such cute packaging! The value of this box is $87! Can you believe it? You can get all of the items below plus the collection came with a $50 gift card to Naked Wines (not pictured).

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter- These two delish colors are called Pink Lemonade (Left) and Sorbet (Right).

Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel- I love this color and it will be perfect for a day on the beach with a margarita!

Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow- This is the Sea Mist collection.

Vegan Cuts- May 2013

I was recently sent a box to review from Jill and John at Vegan Cuts. Now let me start by saying I am not a vegan but I have really enjoyed the food that has arrived in this box. It really doesn't taste super healthy even though it is. Vegan Cuts box costs $19.95 each month and it includes vegan food and beauty products. I think their website is great and there is lots of vegan items on their website that come in the boxes and some that don't. There is food, clothing, and beauty items. Tons of great items so make sure to go and look around!

So what are these yummy items in the box?

Teese Vegan Cheese- This cheddar cheese is made by Chicago Vegan Foods and is non-dairy, free of GMOs,soy, gluten and palm oil. Retail Value- $4.50

22 Days PB & Chocolate Chip Nirvana Bar- Made with raw and organic superfoods. Retail Value- $3

22 Days Protein Powder- I was a little sad this sample was chocolate flavor cause I am not a big fan of chocolate but I am a big fan of protein shakes so I am going to give it a shot. Retail Value- $2.50

Now the cost of this box is 19.95 a month and the value of the box they sent me is $18.50. I thought this was a great value as basically you are getting your money back and not paying for shipping.
