Our Local Box- May 2013

I thought the concept behind Our Local Box was awesome. They send out a box each month that is filled with Kentucky items. I liked that it wasn't all beauty or all food. It is all items from Kentucky! And Kentucky makes some awesome things besides Bourbon. So the theme of this months box is "Derby" since the Kentucky Derby was not too long ago.

This box company was founded by Dan and Jason Lee and I think they have a great idea with local only items. This would be perfect to explore Kentucky or if you used to live in Kentucky and moved away. This will give you a taste of home. So what came in my Our Local Box?

Cellar Door Chocolates- Banana Pudding Fudge! I don't know what genius thought of this idea but it is brilliant! Straight out of Louisville, KY Retail Value- $8

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas- This is Cheery Rose Green Tea flavor and it smells AMAZING! Straight out of Danville, KY Retail Value- $10.50

Rituals By Nature- Magik Skin Balm is formulated with olive oil, organic beeswax, cocoa butter, lavender oil, vitamin E and dragons blood. Coming from someone who makes their own bath products these ingredients sound perfect together. Straight out of Florence, KY Retail Value- $7.50

Rituals By Nature- Carnelian lip balm contains honey and you would not believe how amazing honey is for your lips. Again made of all awesome ingredients! Straight from Florence, KY Retail Value- $6

Our Local Box is $30 a month and cheaper if you get a 3 or 6 month subscription. The value of this box is $32 and it is always full sized products! I love that this box is a specific area and I feel like I got a little piece of Kentucky.
