Beauty Army October 2012

One of the things that I love about Beauty Army is that you get to pick the items in your box from a selection. So while you do not get the surprise element of other boxes you know you are not going to be stuck with items you don't want. So here is what came in my Beauty Army Box for October.

Beauty Army costs $12 per month.

This is a to go perfume towel from Ruddy Water in Blushed fragrance. Value 90 cents. You can buy a package of 24 for $22.

I received a 5ml container of Aphrodite powder from Lipsi Cosmetics. I am very excited to have this in my travel bag! Value $5.

Skinn Cosmetics sent this Twin Set lipstick and gloss duo. Two items in one! Value $18.50

NuMe Shampoo is in a nice deluxe travel size as well. Value $2.

This is a healing oil treatment from Macadamia Haircare. Value $13.50

I was very excited to see a Bath and Body Works item in here because it has been so long since I have been in that store so I know there are great new scents. This is called Paris Amour. Value $5.

I thought this box was a great value with about $45 worth of product and I only paid $12!

Beauty Box 5 October 2012

This was my first Beauty Box 5 box and I was impressed with what I received. The one thing I don't like about this box is there are no full size products. They are regular and deluxe samples. But at least this will give me a chance to build up my travel collection!



Bauty Box 5 is $12 per month with free shipping. You can get a discount if you sign up for a 6 month or annual subscription.

City Lips is a lip plumper that is packed full of antioxidants and moisturizing ingredients. My sample size is valued at $9.60 and they included a coupon for 20% off.

Lash cards are designed to allow you to put on your mascara without getting any on your upper or lower eyelids. My sample size is valued at $1.40. A 10 pack is available for $6.99.

I never know those 2 lines in between your eyes are called your 11 lines. Makes total sense though. These elevens frown reducing patches are degined to deminish those 11 lines. This sample came with 3 patches and is valued at $2. You can buy a pack of 30 patches for $19.99.

I am a huge fan of lip balm and this is no different. It was very smooth and tasted like sugar cookies. The value of my sample is $2.50.

Argon oil is a "miracle" that is perfect for healing skin ailments and protecting against premature aging. It can be used alone or added to your moisturizer. My sample is valued at $8.

Show Stoppers is the perfect addition to your travel bag. They are little strips of double sided fashion tape. Sure to keep any clothing in place! My sample is valued at $.85.

Although I did not receive any full size products the samples I did receive are awesome for my travel bag. Good thing I have a trip planned!

Full value of my box of samples was just over $24. That doubles the value of what I paid!

The Honest Co. Sample Pack

The Honest Co is a great company that was started by Jessica Alba. It is a diaper/wipe and/or essentials delivery company. I signed up for their newsletter and they sent me an offer for a free trail pack. All I had to do was pay the $5 shipping. Here is what I received.

The price for the sucscription will vary depending on what you need and how often.

I received 7 (white not pictured) diapers in the size I requested. There are plenty of styles to choose from for both boys and girls.

I received a travel size pack of baby wipes.

This is an "essentials" collection that includes: Laundry detergent,, hand soap, healing balm, shampoo and body wash and face and body lotion.

What a great collection for $5! Now time to pass the diapers and wipes to my nephew and enjoy the essentials on my next trip since they are travel size!

Julep Maven October 2012

I used an amazing code ((julepvip) and got this order from Julep Maven for 1 cent plus $3.99 shipping. Julpe Maven is a salon that makes its own line of nail polishes and nail products. The box is normally $19.99 a month.

I love these colors!

This pedi creme is amazing on your feet. Makes them feel so silky smooth! Retail: $22. Memeber price: $17.60.


This was such an amazing value for $4! Full retail price was $50. Member price was $40. Either way I am so happy with this box!

BarkBox October 2012

BarkBox is one of my favorite boxes to receive each month. I have received it for several months now and I have never been disappointed by the goodies that arrive each month. Plus, BarkBox gives a portion of its proceeds to animal shelters. I just love companies that give back to the community!

BarkBox costs $17 a month when you have a 6 month subscription.

This felt snake is by Lollycadoodle and retails for $11.99.

Feelgood Treat Company made these Trail Blazin' Bitz and it retails for $5.95.

I love this mustache from Moody Pet. It retails for $12. I tried to give this to my dog but he only wanted to chew on it.

Clean Teeth Gel from Tropiclean is a product I have been wanting to try for my dog. So far it works great! Retail price is $9.99.

Nothing says love like a new roll of poop bags! I love the argyle pattern on this roll from Metro Paws. Retails for $2.

BarkBox send just over $40 worth of goodies for $17! And my dog loves all the fun stuff he received.



My Glam Bag October 2012

This is my first “My Glam Bag” from Ipsy and I was extremely impressed with what I received. Check it out!

Each month your beauty items come in a cosmetic bag and I thought this one was adorable!

I received a sample pack of Coastal Scents eye shadow worth $3-4 plus a bonus coupon for 20% off my Coastal Scents order. I thought these shades were a little summery but then again it is going to be around 80 degrees here in Charleston today.

Pequi Oil Treatment is designed to restore softness and shine to hair. This .5 fl oz bottle is worth $12 and there was a bonus coupon for 20% off my Couture Colour order.

Love this "What's Your Type" mascara from The Balm Cosmetics. This mascara is worth $5 plus I received a 15% off The Balm Cosmetics purchase.

Don't let the picture confuse you this is actually a Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain. It is a full size tube that is worth $39! I also received a $20 off coupon.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics send this eyeliner Valued at $14. This eyeliner is so different because it goes on like a marker. So easy to use!

Over all this bag was worth roughly $60 and I only paid $10! This is an amazing value and I love that I received a lot of makeup and they are full size.

Birchbox October 2012

Birchbox teamed up with Goop to create a special collection box this month. You had the option to get a Goop inspired box or to stick with a Birchbox inspired box. I decided to take a chance and go with the Goop box. For those of us that are new to Goop…it is a website that is full of lifestyle inspiration.

Joanna Vargas Daily Serum- This serum is packed full of vitamins and will leave you with a healthy glow. Value- $14. (I received a 5 ml sample. Full 1 oz size is $85.)

Marie Veronique Organics Body Oil- This oil is designed to replenish skin. Value- $3. (sample was not labeled with size. My estimate of 5ml sample. Full size 2oz $36.)

I thought this is a great Birchbox overall. Value of items in this box is around $30. A great value for paying only $10!
