Starlooks Dec 2012

I have to say that this months Starlooks Box is one of the best values I have received from any box. And of course it is makeup (which is my favorite)! So what is the big item for this month?

This is a 15 shade eyeshadow palliate! I am so excited about this because there are greens, gold/yellows, blues, reds and purples. What a great palliate for the holidays. Perfect to play with the colors for New Year! And since I will be traveling for the holidays this is a great way to travel with a lot of different colors in a simple carry all.

And the value? The box will cost $16.98 each month but this palliate is worth $99! Are you kidding? What an amazing value. If you do not receive Starlooks please do yourself a favor and go sign up. And while you are there make sure to get a subscription for a friend too!

The honey cinnamon almonds were also very tasty. Great size package to throw in the purse for an on the go snack. Retail Value- $1.33

Who doesn't want a little bit of chocolate goodness this time of year? Not me! These little two pieces were perfect to get a little bit of indulgence but without going overboard. Retail Value- $1.14

While this box may not be an extreme value (just over $11 worth of goodies for $10) but I love that they donate meals for each box sold so I still feel like the box is worth the value.

Cravebox- Coffee Lovers

I have to tell you guys that I like Cravebox because they are themed. But also because you do not have to sign up for a chance to get the box if you do not like the theme. Now the latest box is coffee lovers theme and I do not drink coffee. But my boyfriends mom loves coffee and she is coming to town for the holidays so I got the box with the intention of giving it to her. So just keep in mind that you might not like the theme but you might know someone who would love it!

So what exactly did the curators put in this box?

Tully's Coffee- This big bag of French Roast coffee is said to be powerful and intense with a bittersweet end. Retail Value- $9.50

What goes better with coffee than biscotti. Biscotti Brothers included these two individually wrapped pieces in different flavors. Retail Value-$1.20

Torani is a great addition to coffee. The french vanilla flavor should be a nice compliment to the French roast coffee. Retail Value- $7

Finally Barbara's Bakery sent High Fiber Cranberry cereal. Retail Value- $2.50

I really liked that items that were included in this box. It may not be a lot of items but the are well put together and full size! Full box value- $20.

Sample Society December 2012

Sample Society is a monthly box by Beauty Bar. You get 5 deluxe samples each month! What does this month's box look like?

Each month Sample Society sends you a $15 off a $50 purchase (1 item from the box must be included in the purchase). So it is a great way to get your $15 back in full size product!

The first product is a line tamer from Murad. It is designed to fight deep wrinkles while softening skin.

Hanskin included a deluxe of sample of their perfect super magin bb cream. It is designed to put your skin on the fast track to flawless skin that also helps to fight blemishes.

I think Stila makes amazing products so I was glad to see this smudge crayon in the box. (this is probably what I will spend my $15 coupon on). It is a 3 in one product...primer, shadow and liner!

I have also tried Living Grace products before and they are great! This product is a shampoo, bath and shower gel. Perfect for my travel bag!

Delaney included a rejuvenating eye cream. I have high hopes that is this product is going to be amazing since a full size product sells for $135!

I thought this was a great variety of samples to get acquainted with for my holiday season. It is difficult for me to judge the value of the samples so sorry I didn't include that portion.

Do you get Sample Society? If so, what do you like/not like about it?

Cravebox Holiday Spruce Up

The latest Cravebox I received is called the "Holiday Spruce Up" box. I have to admit I thought this was going to be full of fun decorating items. I was surprised when I opened the box and there was cleaning supplies in there! So what exactly came in this box?

I am still a little surprised by the concept of this box since I was expecting decorations but this is going to be a big help in getting my house clean for the holiday guests.

I am super excited about this new product from Bissell. It is a stain lifting pad and it is going to be extremely helpful since I have a dog. I wish I had these when he was a puppy and still had accidents on the floor but I am sure he will get sick at some point and then I can use these. Retail Value- $1

The big money item of this box is the Oxi-Clean dishwasher booster. Not only is this a full size bottle but it is a value size! Retail Value- $10.99

I have already taken the Febreze air freshener out of the package and it is making my house smell amazing. The scent is New Zealand Springs and I recommend it to everyone! Retail Value- $3

I have heard a lot about the Tide pods but I have never met anyone who has used them to give me a full review. So now I will be able to try them out for myself. Retail Value- $.25

There were also 2 coupons in the box for Biz Stainfighter cleaner and Mean Green Super Strength Cleaner and Degreaser.

The full value of this box was just over $15. Not exactly the best value for the box but I was glad to be able to try out the new products that I have seen but don't want to try a full bottle.

Do you get Cravebox? If so, what do you like/not like about it?

Julep Maven December 2012

Julep Maven is one of my favorite boxes to receive each month. I started getting this box because I had a coupon to get my first box for 1 penny. I had no intention of keeping this box going but the products are top quality and the value amazing. So what did I get in my December box?

You always get 2 nail polishes and a hand/foot product in each box for $19.99.

The hand/foot product this month is an instand warming foot scrub. And it makes your feet feel so soft! Retail Value- $22.

I also received a peppermint and make you own ring as little holiday extras.

I thought these colors are going to be perfect for New Years Eve. The purple color in the back has a gold color in there too so it changes colors. Very cool. The black in the front has tons of glitter in it and will be a great shimmer color. Retail Value- $14 each

I just do not think you can go wrong with this box. The colors are custom to your beauty profile so you don't feel like you are getting colors you would never wear. Plus I got $48 worth of product for $19.99!

Do you get Julep Maven? If so, what do you love/not love about it?

For those of you who are new to Cravebox let me give a break down of their process. Cravebox can cost $10-15 but you are not guaranteed each box. All boxes have a theme but you must enter the drawing and hope you get lucky and receive a box.

So this is a box that was curated by Cooking Light and this is what they came up with...

Here is the paragraph that was included with my items:

The coffee is a French roast from Tully's. It is described as powerful and intense with a bittersweet end. Retail Value- $9.50

The salted caramel syrup from Torani is a great addition to coffee. Add a bit then milk and sugar as usual. Retail Value- $6.

These Dole fruit cups were awesome. They did not last long in my house at all. They are fruit with a little bit of crunchy oats and brown sugar topping. Retail Value- $9.90 (for all 3)

Splenda included their new nectresse no-calorie sweetener. I love that it is in the little packages so I can try it on the go. Retail Value- $3

I use McCormick spices all the time so I am super excited they included this product. I received 2 bottles of the salt-free garlic and herb seasoning blend. Retail Value- $4

This is one of the best boxes I have received from Cravebox. Great job Cooking Light! This box is worth over $35!

Bluum Box Nov 2012

Sorry it is taking me into December to post some things from November but life is getting crazy around my house. I hope you can forgive me!

Bluum Box is for babies and their moms. It is full of toys, cleaning items and baby care products. Each month will have a different theme and November's theme was "Bundle Up". So what did I receive in my first Bluum Box?
I liked the variety of mom and baby items.

This is a Babybug magazine. It is softback like a book and is full of simple illustrated stories and poems. Very cute stories in here. I know my niece will love it! Retail Value- $3.77

The card is a $15 off a $60 purchase from Niko Luxe. They carry clothes for newborns, infants, and kids.

Dapple baby laundry detergent! I love that it is hypoallergenic and made of all natural ingredients. Retail Value- $.25

Numi Organic Teas- They sent two different tea bags to try and both smell amazing. Retail Value- $.75

Madhava- Organic healthier alternatives to processed sugars. There is a sample of coconut sugar and agave nectar. Retail Value- $.25

This mOmma Teether is super cute! Plus it can be chilled for even more relief. Retail Value- $5.99

I really liked the variety that came in the box. There is stuff for both the mom and the baby. I don't have any children yet so I am excited to pass some things on to my nephew. This box costs $11 each month and that is about the value of the items. However there was supposed to be an additional item in the box but was unavailable due to Hurricane Sandy. It will arrive in this months box.

Pets Love Toys Nov 2012

Let me tell you the first thing I love about Pets Love Toys...you get to choose your items that arrive each month. You can choose between all toys, all treats or a combination of toys and treats. Then once you have decided that you can choose from several options. So I chose a treats and toys combination. What did I get?

This was the Sojo/Red Barn option box.

I love Chuckit! toys for my dog because they last (even with my heavy chewing dog). This is an indoor ball which my dog has already fallen in love with. Retail Value- $7

Wag More send a Pumpkin Pie Treat in a cute sample pack. This is great because we are always looking for small bags of treats to take on the road.

Red Barn Naturals sent this Rodeo Roll which is a healthy alternative to rawhides. It is designed for all kinds of chewers and will help with teeth and gums. Retail Value- $3

Pup Chips sample bag of their liver treats were also put into the box as a bonus.

Red Barn also sent a Chew-A-Bulls dog treat. This is also great for chewers and helps with skin and coat as well as teeth and gums. Retail Value- $4

Smart Bones also make a great alternative to rawhides called Smart Bones. They are 99% digestible! Retail Value- $3

Sojos makes very yummy dog treats. This box is Peanut Butter Honey flavor and they also sent a sample of their Bacon Cheddar flavor. Retail Value- $7.50

The last sample we received was Cloud Star's Buddy Wash. It is a lavender and mint shampoo and conditioner combo.

This was a large size box that costs $24.95. Total the value of the items in the box (with samples) is roughly $25. I am not sure how the other boxes (all treats or all toys) will be value wise but I am not disappointed. I get to try a big variety of new items for my dog and I hope some will become his favorites.

Do you get Pets Love Toys? If so, what do you love or not love about it?

Starlooks Nov 2012

I was very excited to see this Starlooks box arrive in the mail yesterday. Starlooks is a cosmetic brand that has received rave reviews so I am very excited to try their line. The box comes with full size items. So what came in my first Starlook Box?

What I thought was interesting is that little quartz crystal that is on the eyeshadow. They send you one each month and hope you collect them to place at the base of your make up brushes. What a cute idea.

Tender Gloss Lipstick- I thought this was a great color for fall. Retail Value- $11

Starlooks Eyeshadow- I like that they send me a little card that explained how these colors are meant to be worn together. Retail Value- $24
Eyelash Tool- I have to admit I had to look up what this tool was all about. But it is a 3-in-1 tool for eyelashes. To help guide mascara and separate the lashes for a better look.

Overall I thought this was a great value. I received about $35 worth of product for $15.

Do you get Starlook box? If so, what do you love/not love about the box?

Beauty Box 5 Nov 2012

I am not sure if I LOVE Beauty Box 5 yet but I must say I like the items that are in the box. Here is what I received in November...

I LOVE this eyeshadow by Swagger Eyeshadow. It is a great bright blue shimmer that is going to be perfect for the holiday party I have this weekend. There is also a coupon for 20% off the Swagger website. Retail Value- $9.5

This Cetaphil lotion is so hydrating and perfect size to carry in my purse. Retail Value- $1.10

I like the fact that this lip gloss from Model Co has a mirror on it but this is not exactly my color. I also thought it would have been better in a spring box. Retail Value- $16

This face mask from Envie De Nuef is an anti-aging mask that reduces dark circles, wrinkles and helps to improve elasticity. I also received a 50% off siteside coupon for Envie De Neuf website. Retail Value- $3

Global Goddess sent 2 samples of their Coconut Hair Treatment. It is designed to revitalize your hair and add lots of shine. I also received a 20% sitewide coupon for Global Goddess. Retail Value- $1.20

Birchbox Nov 2012

I have been receiving Birchbox for well over a year and I am beginning to have mixed reviews about it. The problem is there is still (usually) 1 item that I love and is worth the value. So it makes me stick with my Birchbox. Plus I get all those points for reviews so it makes shopping in the shop worth it too!
What is in this months box?

I didn't really like the smell of the perfume, Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue by Atelier Cologne. I thought the rose notes were nice but overpowered by spice notes.

The potato chip from Chuao Chocolatier was our Lifestyle Bonus this month. I am not a fan of salty and sweet together so I will give this to my boyfriend. You can get a variety pack on the Birchbox website. Retail Value- $1.10

I have mixed feelings about this Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector from Miracle Skin Transformer. It is said to be a little oily and I have oily skin so it may not be a good match.

I am very excited to try this Lavender and Clary Sage Hair Powder from Lulu Organics. It is a dry shampoo designed to give you plenty of lift without the residue. Retail Value- $ 1.33

I am very excited about this mascara from Model Co. This will be perfect to try at my holiday party this weekend. This product made the whole box worth while. Retail Value- $24.

Do you get Birchbox? If so, what do you love/hate about it?
